Biography:

Aleksandar Stojanović was born on February 3, 1974, in Sarajevo. He completed his primary education in Olovo and his secondary education in Sarajevo with excellent performance. As the top student of his generation, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Pale, University of East Sarajevo. He completed his master's degree in 2002 and earned his doctorate in 2006 at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade. Since 1998, he has been employed at the Faculty of Economics in Pale, UIS, where he currently holds the position of full professor (since 2017). In addition to teaching, he has worked on numerous research projects for international organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, joint governmental institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, institutions of the Republic of Srpska, local government authorities, and domestic companies. He has collaborated with all major domestic consulting firms and participated in numerous round tables and symposiums on fiscal reforms in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a member of the Indirect Taxation Commission, he participated in the development of the Law on the Indirect Taxation System in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was also engaged as an advisor to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Srpska. He served as an expert on public finance reform at the European Commission Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and as a member of the Council and later the Senate of the University of East Sarajevo. Throughout his career, as an assistant, senior assistant, lecturer, and then associate professor, he taught not only at the Faculty of Economics in Pale but also at various other institutions: the postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka (Public Finance), the undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law in East Sarajevo (Finance and Financial Law), the Higher School for Foreign Trade in Bijeljina, the Faculty of Philosophy in East Sarajevo, the Faculty of Production Management in Banja Luka, the Faculty of Economics in Mostar, and the Faculty of Business Economics in Valjevo. He also lectured at seminars for the continuous education of managers, accountants, and auditors conducted by the consulting company d.o.o. "Revikon" from Sarajevo. He served as the Head of the Department of Economic Policy at the Faculty of Economics in East Sarajevo from 2007 to 2013 and as the Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting since 2013. Since 2020, he has been the Head of the Department of Finance.
